Mike Thibodeau Announces Lead Campaign Staff

Taps Former RNC Director of Political Strategy Tom Dickens and Former Maine Trump Campaign Director Christie-Lee McNally to lead campaign for Governor

Winterport, Maine - Senate President Mike Thibodeau today announced his campaign for governor will be headed up by Tom Dickens and Christie-Lee McNally.

Tom Dickens, who grew up in Lincolnville, Maine, will serve as Campaign Manager and lead day-to-day campaign operations including campaign organizing, fundraising, and strategy. Most recently, Dickens served as the Director of Political Strategy at the Republican National Committee (RNC).

"Tom’s local background and extensive experience from winning campaigns and committees, makes him the perfect choice to lead our campaign," said Thibodeau. "Tom and I are in complete agreement about the importance of strengthening Maine’s economy in order to encourage young Mainers to stay in our state and convince those that have left to come home to Maine to work and raise a family.”

Dickens has held numerous national and statewide positions including Maine Senior Advisor for President Donald J. Trump’s successful presidential campaign, National Field Director for Chris Christie for President, and Deputy National Field Director at the Republican National Committee (RNC) during the 2014 midterm elections where Republicans captured the senate majority while increasing their majority in the house. He was Political Director for Chris Christie’s convincing 2013 re-election as Governor of New Jersey and in 2012 he was RNC State Director in Wisconsin when Republican Scott Walker became the first governor in U.S. history to survive a recall election with 54% of the vote. Tom also worked on Scott Brown’s successful 2010 bid for U.S. Senate and for the Maine Republican Party in 2008.

Dickens and his wife Elise just purchased their first home in Appleton, Maine.

Christie-Lee McNally has been a staple in Maine politics for the past two decades and will serve as Political Director for the campaign. She will lead grassroots efforts, campaign events and messaging.

McNally served as the Statewide Director for the Donald J. Trump campaign during the 2016 election cycle, securing President Trump’s only electoral vote in the northeast. McNally previously served as Executive Director of the Maine Republican Party, where she worked to successfully repeal LD 1495, the Democrats sales tax increase and expansion. In 2010, under McNally’s direction Maine Republicans gained the majority in the Maine Senate, the Maine House of Representatives, and won the Governor’s race, this was the first time Republicans had accomplished such electoral success in over 40 years. She has previously worked on Kevin Raye for Congress, Jon Courtney for Congress, and helped manage campaigns for the Maine House Republicans for several election cycles.

McNally lives with her two children, Emily and Matthew, along with their four mastiffs in Scarborough, Maine
