Thibodeau for Governor Campaign Raises over $100,000

Campaign shows strong support right out of the gate, exceeding quarterly fundraising goal and raising money from all 16 counties

Winterport, Maine –
Senate President Mike Thibodeau announced today that his campaign raised $101,763 in just over two months.

“I couldn’t be more proud of the support this campaign has received since we launched,” said Thibodeau. “The hard work is just beginning, but this immediate statewide support reflects exactly what I’ve been seeing on the campaign trail – Maine Republicans are ready for strong, conservative leadership with a purpose.”

Since announcing his candidacy in mid-October, Sen. Thibodeau has been traveling the state meeting with everyday Mainers, business owners and local leaders sharing his vision for Maine’s future.

Thibodeau has garnered support from all 16 counties.  More than 99% of his contributions were from Maine donors, and donations of $250 or less made up more than half of all contributions. His campaign starts the year with $69,798 cash-on-hand.

As a self-made businessman, whose family business started with one employee and eventually employed over 200, Sen. Thibodeau is very proud of the support the Maine business community has shown for his candidacy. Business leaders from across the state and representing businesses of all sizes have lined up to support his candidacy.

“When I grew up in Winterport, our family had very limited resources. But every day we woke up with a purpose. We worked hard, everyone rolled up their sleeves, and we stayed focused on doing the best job we could so we could provide not only for our family but our extended family of employees,” continued Thibodeau. “This campaign is about the same thing: working together to improve Maine’s economy so Mainers from all walks of life can live the best life possible. Through conservative principles -- lowering taxes, improving Maine’s business climate, and breaking the crushing cycle of welfare dependency -- we will make Maine the best state in the nation to live, do business, and raise a family.”
